Arjan De Zeeuw

De Zeeuw started off his career in England playing for Barnsley, in total spending four years at the club, tallying up 164 league appearances. His outstanding play earned the player a move to Wigan Athletic and soon became an important defender for the club. During his first spell at Wigan he played for the club 146 times and in the summer of 2002, he moved to Portsmouth and became an important member of their starting line up. He helped the club gain promotion to the premiership in his debut season. After making 115 appearances for Pompey he moved back to Wigan in the summer of 2005 as they were promoted to the Premiership.

 

Steve Claridge

During his long successful career, Steve Claridge has played for a various number of different clubs, including, Bournemouth, Weymouth, Aldershot, Cambridge, Luton, Birmingham, Leicester, Portsmouth, Wolves, Mill Wall, Brighton, Wycombe, Gillingham and Bradford. This has made him one of the most well travelled players in English football history. He had two spells playing for Portsmouth, he spent most of the 1997-98 season with the club and he returned to the club in October 1998, spending three more seasons at the club, leaving in July 2001. He is a popular figure in the game and now works as a TV pundit.

Shaun Derry

Derry started off his career playing for Notts County in 1995, he went on to spend three seasons at the club, recording over 80 appearances. Sheffield United bought the player in 1998 for £700,000 and he went on to play 72 times for the club. In the summer of 2000, Portsmouth bought the player for £300,000 and he soon became a favourite with the fans, with his hard tackling aggressive midfield displays. After two seasons at Pompey, playing over 50 matches he moved on to Crystal palace and is now playing his football with Leeds United.
