Alan Knight

Knight spent a staggering 22 years playing in goal for Portsmouth FC. He holds the record number of appearances for a goal keeper playing for one single club, in total playing for Portsmouth in 801 matches. His career at the club spanned between 1978 and 2000. He is also the second longest serving player at Portsmouth, just behind the loyal Jimmy Dickinson. His loyalty at the club earned him being honoured with the MBE in the New years honors list of 2001. Since retiring from playing football, he has had a coaching role at Portsmouth.

Steve Foster

In what proved to be a dire period for Portsmouth Football club, one of the huge plusses at that time was the emergence of their young prodigy, Steve Foster. He played during a turbulent time at the club as Portsmouth was relegated to the third division; he was a fast, skilful winger who was great at running at the opposition.
