Ron Saunders

Saunders was very much an integral part of the Portsmouth team during the early 1960’s. To this date he is one of the greatest forwards that Portsmouth has ever produced. His career at Portsmouth commenced in 1956 and he went on to spend eight blistering years at the club. In total he made 236 league appearances for the club, scoring a staggering 145 league goals. He was one of the most prolific goal scorers of his generation. He was surprisingly sold to Watford in June 1964.

 

Peter Harris

Harris began his blistering career at Portsmouth in 1946 and went on to spend a staggering 16 seasons at the club. He helped the club win the league title on two occasions in the 48-49 and 49-50 seasons. He was very prolific in front of goal for the club and in total he has scored 194 league goals for Pompey, the highest amount ever scored by a player for Portsmouth FC.
